Hello, I'm BC Shin.
I have spent many years helping organizations solve complex technical problems as a programmer, technical consultant, and integration specialist. My work has focused on software implementation, automation, data integration, and customer success across a variety of industries.
Today, I am beginning a new chapter by building a career in the insurance industry while continuing my education in HVAC at Orange Coast College. I enjoy learning new skills and believe that continuous growth is one of life's greatest rewards.
As I continue this journey, my goal is not only to grow professionally but also to use the knowledge, skills, and resources I have gained to help those who are less fortunate and to make a positive contribution to my community. I believe that success is most meaningful when it creates opportunities to serve and support others.
For more than 20 years, I have built a career helping organizations solve complex technical challenges through software development, enterprise system integration, automation, and data solutions.
I've had the opportunity to work with clients across government, finance, telecommunications, healthcare, and other industries, designing solutions that improve business processes and connect critical systems.
My professional journey began at UCLA's Laboratory of Neuro Imaging and later expanded into software consulting and enterprise implementations.
Over the years, I have worked as a programmer, technical consultant, solutions architect, and implementation consultant, leading projects involving enterprise software, REST APIs, ETL pipelines, cloud technologies, and customer implementations.
One thing that has remained constant throughout my career is my desire to keep learning.
Technology continues to evolve, and I enjoy exploring new tools and improving my skills. More recently, I have expanded my professional journey into the insurance industry while continuing my HVAC education, believing that every new challenge is an opportunity to grow.
Today, I continue combining my technical background with a passion for helping people.
Whether I'm solving technical problems, helping families understand insurance, creating educational resources, or building tools like the Vocabulary Flashcards application, my goal is always the same—to make complex topics easier to understand and more useful in everyday life.
Ultimately, I hope to use the knowledge, experience, skills, and resources I have acquired throughout my career to support those facing difficult circumstances and make a positive contribution to the community.
Beyond my professional career, I enjoy creative and outdoor activities that help me stay curious, balanced, and continually inspired.
Photography allows me to slow down, appreciate everyday moments, and capture the beauty I encounter while hiking, traveling, or walking with my dogs.
My two Jindo dogs, Busan and Coco, are my favorite walking companions. Spending time with them reminds me to enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and appreciate simple moments in life.
Walking local trails is one of my favorite ways to recharge after work or studying. Hiking allows me to enjoy nature, clear my mind, and discover beautiful places through photography.
I enjoy writing essays, poems, travel journals, photography stories, and personal reflections about life, learning, and the experiences that shape us. Writing allows me to organize my thoughts, preserve meaningful memories, and continue growing both personally and professionally. You can also explore a collection of my essays, poems, travel journals, photography stories, and other writings on my Tistory blog.
I believe a fulfilling life is built on curiosity, continuous learning, meaningful relationships, and giving back to others. These passions keep me grounded, inspire new ideas, and remind me that the greatest value of learning is being able to help others.
"Never stop learning.
Never stop growing.
Never stop helping others."
